Are there PTE Academic and General Tests?

While there is a PTE General test, it is not accepted for visa applications. If you plan to study or work abroad, you have to take the PTE Academic test.

Should I take IELTS or PTE?

Generally, it does not matter which test you take. Both are tests of English proficiency. While IELTS currently enjoys a wider acceptance. PTE is slowly getting there. It is always best to check with the relvant authority to see which tests they accept. If you are in doubt, you could aways reach out to us!

When are the test dates available?

PTE is conducted almost everyday is most major cities in India. Availability of test dates should not be a problem. There is also an option to book emergency test dates upto two days in advance. If you are concerned about booking a test date, give us a call and we can assist you with registering for the PTE.

Do all the universities accept the test?

Many (not all) universities all over the world. Pearson is working on extending the acceptance of this test.

Do I need a passport for taking the PTE?

If you are taking the test in India, a valid passport is the only accept form of identification. So, yes. You absolutely must have a passport to take the PTE test.

Can I write in pencil?

PTE is taken completely on a computer. It is not a pen and a paper test. All your responses must be typed in. You will be provided with an erasable notepad and a marker to make any notes.
